High Performance 3 Phase Pulse Amplifier

Our customer needed fast delivery of a powerful high performance drive amplifier to complete a seriously overdue contract. Failure was not an option!

Our customer’s linear motor (3 independent windings, 24” displacement) needed high current and bandwidth to
simulate real world shock events. Other requirements:

  • Power and bandwidth to deliver 300 g’s in complex crash time histories
  • Interface with a proprietary serial communication protocol
  • Low distortion (THD < 1% at 200Hz)
  • Low noise (-80 db or better)
  • High bandwidth (more than 1 kHz at 45 degree Φ)
  • Small quantities—four units for two end-users
  • End product hardware ASAP
